It is reliably learnt that the J & K State Accountability Commission has ordered an enquiry against the state cooperative minister Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma and some senior bureaucrats of his ministry for their alleged involvement in swinding of huge amounts of money and other serious irregularities in the State Housing Corporation.
The initial investigation carried out by the commission has revealed serious infractions and the minister’s failure to manage the corporation properly.
The allegation against the minister is he knew thousands of crores of rupees had been swindled out of the corporation’s fund yet he took no action against the culprits.
There are facts to prove that the minister did not act against the corrupt as he himself had taken bribe and plot from the officials managing the corporation.
There are allegations that the minister not only did not punish the corrupt officials but he went overboard when he reinstated some of them.
The losses incurred due to frauds and irregularities are so huge that the corporation faces a long haul back to its normal financial situation.
