The veteran cooperator from Gujarat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi loyalist, Dileepbhai Sanghani, has once again been elected unanimously as the Chairman of the fertilizer cooperative IFFCO, in an election held today, on Friday.
Sanghani’s comeback, though a foregone conclusion, has spread cheers among his supporters from Delhi to Gujarat. Balvir Singh, the outgoing Vice-Chairman, has also retained his position on the new board.
Umesh Tripathy from Uttarakhand proposed Sanghani’s name, while Prahlad Singh from Haryana seconded him. In the case of the Vice Chairman Balvir Singh, Jagdeep Singh Nakai proposed and Prem Chand Munshi seconded the idea.
As soon as the names of Sanghani and Balvir were announced, their supporters couldn’t stop themselves and garlanded them at the IFFCO headquarters in Saket.
“We at IFFCO will not only disseminate the information about the newly developed technology – Nano Urea and Nano DAP but also work together to achieve the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’,” he added.
It’s worth recalling that a day prior to the election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman, out of 21 seats, elections were held for seven seats. In these seven seats, four of them have made it to the board for the first time, including Varsha Kasturkar from Maharashtra, Rishiraj Sisodia from Madhya Pradesh, S Shakthvel from Tamil Nadu, and Ramniwas Garhwal from Rajasthan.
The other new comer elected uncontested include Kolhe.
Through his ‘X’ wall, the IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to Shri Dileep Sanghani Ji @Dileep_Sanghani on being elected as the Chairman, IFFCO & Shri Balvir Singh Ji as Vice Chairman IFFCO during the elections held today at IFFCO Sadan, New Delhi. This is 15th RGB of IFFCO. On behalf of IFFCO family, I extent heartfelt best wishes and thanks to cooperators of the country for their commitment to this election process”.
