Addressing the review meeting of Managing Directors of District Central Cooperative Banks of Rajasthan on Monday, Principal Cooperation Secretary Ms. Shreya Guha reviewed the crop loan targets and directed the officials to achieve the same on time.
During the meeting she said, “The Sahakar Gram Awas Yojana has been started for the construction of houses on the farm of the farmers. Under this scheme, loans up to Rs 50 lakh will be made available to farmers in three instalments through District Central Cooperative Banks”.
“Farmers who repay the loan on time will get a 5 percent interest subsidy. The farmer will have to pay a 6 percent rate of interest and this loan will be long term (15 years). A target of Rs 72.70 crore has been given to the banks for housing on the farm”, she informed in the meeting.
Guha, who is also on the board of fertilizer cooperative giant IFFCO, further said that under the Rajasthan Rural Family Livelihood Scheme, a loan of Rs 1500 crore is to be disbursed. So far 2.34 lakh applications have been received. She directed the officials to start the loan disbursement process.
“Besides, for the 2023-24 FY, crop loan of Rs 22k crore is to be disbursed. Out of which a target of Rs 11,811 crore has been given to the banks for Kharif season 2023 whereas Rs 10,189 crore for Rabi 2023-24. But so far, loans worth Rs 5,793 crore have been given to 15.27 lakh farmers. The target loan disbursement should be done on time”, Guha said.
She directed the officials to lay more focus on giving loans to new farmers. “In the year 2023-24, loans will be distributed to 5 lakh new farmers. So far 34,554 new farmers have been given loans, which is very less. Therefore, the attention would be given on giving loans to new farmers”, Guha underlined.
On this occasion, Registrar Cooperative Meghraj Singh Ratnu, Additional Registrar Shilpi Pandey, Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank Managing Director Bhomaram, Additional Registrar (Banking) Gunjan and others were present.
Meanwhile, a senior cooperator from Rajasthan said, “the state government led by Ashok Gehlot is focusing on strengthening the cooperative movement of the state and made many announcements in the interest of movement. The state government is not only focusing on disbursing interest free crop loans but also looking ahead in constituting Mahila Gram Seva Sahakari Samiti in every block”.
