Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a milk processing unit of the Amreli District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (AMR Dairy) in Amreli, Gujarat on Sunday. The new unit has been built at a cost of more than Rs 200 crore.
Talking about the new milk processing unit Ashwinbhai Swalia, Chairman, AMR Dairy said “We have built a milk processing unit in Amreli with aid from Gujarat Government and others with a cost of more than Rs 200 crore.” It is scheduled to be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on Sunday, he added.
“The milk unit has a capacity of 10 lakh litre and is fully computerized. The plant is spread out in an estimated area of 128 bigha. It took us two years to complete the project, said Swalia.
Readers would recall that AMR Dairy is a part of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) which sells their products in the brand name of Amul.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture Parshottam Rupala is also on the board of AMR Dairy. He is also expected to be present during the inauguration ceremony, said a source.
It bears recall that the ace cooperator of the state Dileepbhai Sanghani is the founder Chairman of AMR Dairy.
Sanghani also said “Chairman of GCMMF and a huge number of cooperators are going to attend the show. “More than 30,000 families of Amreli District are associated with this milk union”, Sanghani informed.
Meanwhile, to oversee the preparations before the Prime Minister’s visit, Gujarat minister Pradeepsinh Bhagwatsinh Jadeja visited the venue and took stock of the situation. Dileepbhai Sanghani and the chairman Ashwinbhai Sawalia of AMR Dairy accompanied the minister who is said to have expressed satisfaction with the preparations.
