According to a handout issued by the govt of Tamil Nadu, the copra procurement price on the market counted Rs 48 per kg.
The cooperative procurement center paid four and a half rupees more for a half copra and seven rupees for full copra per kg, the handout added.
Tamil Nadu minister N.R.Vishwanathan inaugurated the cooperative copra procurement center in Dindigul the other day.
If farmers wanted to sell their produce they would need identity cards and registration with the cooperative society, the govt release stated.
