A high-level delegation from the Cooperative Institute of Malaysia (IKMa) visited the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) on December 26, 2024. Led by Datuk Mohd Ali bin Mansor, Director General of IKMa, the delegation included Mr. Azizul bin Alias and Dato’ Haji Zazali bin Haron, members of the Board of Directors, as well as Dr. Mohd Shahron Anuar bin Said, Head of the Research Centre.
This was followed by a detailed presentation by Ritesh Dey, Executive Director of NCUI, who highlighted the pioneering role of NCUI in empowering cooperatives in India. The presentation focused on cooperative education, training, and the organization’s efforts to uphold cooperative principles.
The Malaysian delegation expressed great interest in NCUI’s initiatives and lauded its contributions to cooperative development and empowerment. As part of the visit, the delegation explored the Cooperative Haat and Coop Kitchen, innovative platforms established by NCUI to support lesser-known cooperatives, self-help groups (SHGs), and women entrepreneurs. They commended the tangible impact of these projects in promoting community empowerment through cooperative principles.

The event was attended by NCUI officials, including Executive Directors Mr. Ashish Dwivedi and Mr. Ved Prakash Setia, Assistant Director Mrs. Inderpreet Kaur, and International Relations team members Ms. Archana Gupta and Mr. John Milton. The session was moderated by Mrs. Sandhya Kapoor, Director at NCUI. The interaction underscored the importance of international cooperation in fostering sustainable development through cooperative models.
