Several cooperators participated in different programmes across the country motivating people to pledge for protecting the environment on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Participating in one such programme in Delhi BJP National Vice President Shyam Jaju mentioned about the government schemes being undertaken to make the environment neat and clean.
Jaju was invited as the chief guest by an NGO Arya Yuva Kendra and Central Pollution Control Board which jointly organized “Environmental Awareness Camp” in Rohini.
He underscored the importance of solar power plants in ensuring the success of schemes like Clean India campaign.
Jaju praised the efforts of Arya Yuva Kendra, North-X Cooperative Society and Central Pollution Control Board for organizing seminars and workshops to raise awareness about environment issues.
The fertilizer cooperative IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi also shared his views on twitter. He tweeted
NAFED Director Ashok Thakur said be it air pollution or water pollution or noise Pollution, people living in slum areas or unauthorized colonies are most affected by it. We should urge people to plant trees to protect environment.
He further said the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for removing garbage from slum areas is praiseworthy.
