In the list of the World Cooperative Monitor report, Kerala based Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS) has ranked at Second position in the list of sector rankings. Usually ICA’s permanent membership is awarded to national apex bodies of co-operatives but ULCCS has been selected based on the performance of the society during the last 94 years. It was the first Primary Co-op Society that became the ICA member.
Interestingly, the second largest fertilizer cooperative of India-Kribhco has also been ranked at Sixth position in the list of sector rankings. This ranking is based on the ratio of turnover over gross domestic product (GDP) per capita.
