Co-operators across the country joined in conveying wishes and greetings to the people of the country on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Many top co-operators including NCUI President Deelip Sanghani took to social media to express their Diwali wishes.
The co-operative giants such as IFFCO, Amul, Kribhco, and others also greeted the nation and their own members on the occasion. Union Minister and high-profile politician Amit Shah, who also heads the Co-op Ministry, tweeted his greetings to the nation. Shah wrote, “Best wishes to all the countrymen on the festival of lights- Diwali. May this festival of lights bring happiness and good health in the lives of all of you”
IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi wrote, “Best wishes to all of you on the festival of light and happiness #Diwali. May everyone’s life shine with happiness and enthusiasm. May this festival fill your lives with progress, prosperity, glory, peace and all the happiness. Happy Diwali to all of you”.
Prior to Diwali, Awasthi also met the senior officials of IFFCO at his office in Saket and extended greetings to them. He shared photos of exchanging greetings with the employees on social media.
Amul, the Indian dairy cooperative society, its official Twitter handle wrote, “Celebrations are purer with Amul Milk. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous Diwali filled with smiles and laughter!”
Besides, Nafcub President Jyotindra Mehta wished his friends and families on the occasion. “Diwali is an occasion to let the lights of diyas and candles illuminate not just your home, but your life too”, he wrote.

Social media was flooded with messages from co-operators of respective states.
The WhatsApp group known as “Bharatiya Sahakari Samvad” comprising cooperators across the country wished each other on Diwali. There were messages from different parts of the country as well as from different sectors of co-operatives.
Another WhatsApp group run by Sahakar Bharati Karyakartas, known as “Bina Sahakar Nahi Sanskar” also greeted its members. There are three-four more WhatsApp groups run by co-operators of different regions which recorded a number of reactions on the occasion of Deepawali.
This year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Diwali by joining security personnel safeguarding India at Lepcha in Himachal Pradesh. He interacted with the soldiers and exchanged sweets.”
