Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Seed Producers and Marketing Federation organized its 16th Annual General Meeting last week in which State Cooperative Minister Arvind Singh Bhadauria was present.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said, “The federation will be empowered to provide good quality seeds to the farmers as per their demand. And the suggestions of the members received on the occasion will be implemented accordingly. The work will be done with full transparency and the interests of the seed-producing cooperatives will also be taken care of”.
He further added that due to better coordination between the seed-producing societies and the government, the agricultural sector of the state would be on the growth path.
Sharing the news through social media, Bhadauria wrote, “Reviewed the 16th Annual General Meeting of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Seed Producers Marketing Federation. The Madhya Pradesh government is providing good and quality seeds to the farmers”.
“During the coronavirus pandemic, the government provided 518 quintals of quality seeds to the farmers in Kharif and 1093 quintals in Rabi season. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the govt is always looking forward to helping the farmers and increasing their income”, the Minister added in his tweet.
On the occasion, the progress of the year 2020-21 related to the distribution and production of breeder seeds by the Seed Association and the action plan for the year 2021-22 was approved. Approval was also given to the income-expenditure (budget) of the Union for the year 2022-23.
The federation Managing Director A K Singh made a thematic presentation before the guests. “The representatives of all the cooperatives post all the information on the portal and website being prepared by the federation”, urged the MD.
Earlier, in a bid to increase the income of Mandis in Madhya Pradesh, a committee has been constituted to make seed-producing societies and Cooperative Seed Producers and Marketing federation profit making.
During the meeting Joint Commissioner of Cooperatives B.S. Shukla, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Bank P.S. Tiwari, representatives of seed production co-ops were present.
