Tamil Nadu chief minister J.Jayalalitha has announced a generous Diwali gift for the people working in the cooperative sector in the state.
In a statement issued on behalf of the chief minister it has been claimed that the eligible employees of the cooperative sugar mills would get 8.33 percent bonus and 11.67 percent of ex-gratia payment.
Employees working with cooperative societies would receive 8.33 percent bonus and 1.67 percent ex-gratia payment while those working with the profit making societies would be given a whopping 20 percent bonus.
As per the announcement, workers of the cooperative societies not covered by the bonus would be given Rs. 1,500 while those belonging to smaller cooperative societies Rs.1200.
The chief minister’s announcement of a munificent Diwali gift has been widely welcomed in the cooperative circles.
