Chattisgarh State Cooperative Bank Chairman Ashok Bajaj reviewed purchases of paddy in the bank headquarters Last week in Chattisgarh.
MARKFED Chairman Radha Krishna Gupta and Vice-President Sashikant Diwedi and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
Addressing the officers Bajaj suggested that empty gunny bags should be kept in an orderly manner in the procurement centers and instructed them to make payment to farmers on time.
He further said according to the state government, there must be purchases of 70 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 13 lakh farmers of the state, and till now from as many as 1220 centers, 16 lakh quintals of paddy have been purchased.
Bajaj said the apex bank has appointed 34 supervisors to inspect procurement centers and to work together with district cooperative banks and cooperative societies.
