In line with their efforts to boost Green Energy and to save electrical cost, CAMPCO Chocolate Factory, Puttur has installed the third Unit of Vapour Absorption Mechanism (VAM).
VAM is an absorption Refrigerator that uses a heat source to provide the energy needed for the cooling process. The Third Unit was inaugurated recently by.B.Thimappa Shetty, Chairman of Coastal Development Authority in the presence of the Board of Directors of CAMPCO.
The unit is set up with a project outlay of more than Rupees one crore. This is expected to go a long way in reducing the consumption of electrical energy for air conditioning of the entire Chocolate Factory.
In this system the mechanical compression process of the vapour compression cycle is replaced by a thermal compression process. This would result in savings in consumption of electricity at Factory, informs a press note issued by the organization.
