In a significant development for the agricultural sector in Hebri, the Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Ltd. (CAMPCO) has announced the grand opening of its new Arecanut Procurement & Processing Plant along with a Master Godown.
This event is set to take place tomorrow on June 22, 2024, at 3:00 PM in Hebri, located on Kuchoor Road, Hebri Taluk, Udupi District, claims a press release from the Campco.
The inauguration of the facility will be conducted by Sri Ravichandran S., the General Manager of Karnataka Bank, highlighting the cooperative’s strong ties with regional financial institutions.
The ceremony will be chaired by Sri A. Kishore Kumar Kodgi, President of CAMPCO, with Sri Tharanath Bangera, President of Hebri Gram Panchayat, gracing the event as the Chief Guest. The event will also see the presence of Sri Shankarnarayana Bhat Khandige, Vice President, Dr. B.V. Sathyanarayana, Managing Director, and other esteemed members of the Board of Directors.
The new infrastructure spans a plinth area of 676.42 square meters on the ground floor and includes staff quarters measuring 120.75 square meters on the first floor. The facility boasts a total storage capacity of 600 metric tonnes. Constructed at a cost of Rs. 3,10,00,000, the building was designed by M/s. A.G. Associates, Udupi, and built by M/s MDA Concrete Products.
Following the formal ribbon-cutting, CAMPCO has organized a Growers Meet. This initiative aims to engage with the local farming community and invites all area farmers to join in the celebrations and discussions.
The new facility marks a pivotal step in enhancing the agricultural infrastructure in the region and catering to the needs of the Areca Farmers. It signifies CAMPCO’s commitment to supporting and advancing the agricultural community in the Hebri region.
