In a letter to the Prime Minister, the only chocolate co-operative CAMPCO has requested establishing an ISRO Laboratory Unit in Udupi District to honour Chandrayaan-3 Scientists and foster Space Science Research.
A.Kishore Kumar Kodgi, the President of CAMPCO congratulates the PM on Chandrayan success and says numerous Scientists from the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts have contributed to Chandrayaan 3,. To honour them we humbly request your esteemed self to consider the establishment of an ISRO Laboratory Unit in Udupi District dedicated to Space Science Research.
This initiative would not only honour the outstanding achievements of these Scientists but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for Students and Engineers in the Region. Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts are renowned education hubs and a local ISRO Laboratory Unit would undoubtedly nurture scientific curiosity and innovation in these areas.
Redirecting a portion of ISROs substantial allocated budget of Rs.15000 Crores towards the establishment of this Laboratory in Udupi District could significantly foster Research and development in the field of space science, he argues.
Kodgi says that he is saying this on behalf of The Central Arecanut & Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Limited -The CAMPCO Ltd., a prominent Multi State Cooperative Society that has been serving the Farmers Community for the past five decades. CAMPCO is a strong supporter of value addition to Farmers produce and we also take pride in our engagement with the Cooperative Sector.
One of the eminent personalities associated with the early days of ISRO, Prof.U.R.Rao hails from Udupi District in Karnataka and his legacy is an inspiration to us all, Kodgi reminds the Prime Minister. This move will catalyse scientific exploration and innovation in the Region, he added saying PM’s endorsement of such an initiative would go a long way in achieving the goal.
Kodgi also thanks PM and says “We remain grateful for your continuous efforts in advancing India’s position in the field of space exploration and technology and once again we humbly request your esteemed self to consider the establishment of an ISRO Laboratory Unit in Udupi District dedicated to Space Science Research.”
