The meeting of Chhattisgarh cooperators was organized at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Raipur office at Kushabhau Thakre Parisar on Wednesday. The meeting was presided over by BJP State co-in charge Nitin Nabin.
BJP’s veteran cooperators from Chhatisgarh including Ashok Bajaj, Preetpal Belchandan, Yogesh Chandrakar, Shashikant Dwivedi, Devendra Pandey and others were present.
Soon after the meeting Markfed former Vice-Chairman and Convener of Cooperative Cell Shashikant Diwedi said, “Several issues related to cooperatives in the state were brought up for discussion. The meeting, which was organized after a long gap, was attended by many top notch state level cooperators”.
“During the meeting, Nabin reviewed the present situation of co-operatives in the state and took the details from the participants. The main issue pertaining to the cooperative sector that came up for discussion was election in cooperative institutions”, he added.
He further said, “More than one year the election is due and the present government led by Congress CM Bhupesh Baghel is not taking any interest in organizing the election. Even the high court gave the verdict in favour of organizing elections but nothing has been done so far”, Diwedi added.
The other issues include, Vermicompost, delayed in salary of PACCs employees, non-submission of amount of PF on daily basis employees of Markfed, were tabled for discussion, the cooperative cell convener underlined.
Later on, sharing the meeting update through social media, Nabin wrote, “During stay in Chhattisgarh, I participated in the meeting of “Cooperative Cell” organized in the Kushabhau Thackeray campus today. State General Secretary Vijay Sharma, State General Secretary, OP Chaudhary, Ashok Bajaj and Devji Bhai Patel were present on this occasion”.
There are more than 2000 PACCs and LAMPs in the state and six district cooperative banks. It bears recall that the state government has appointed congress leaders as Chairmen of almost all the district central cooperative banks.
Readers would note that the agri cooperative lender-National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) provided a financial assistance of Rs 29,901 crore to cooperatives in Chhattisgarh in the last three years.
