Despite several odds, co-operators of Bihar led by Biscomaun Chairman are at the forefront in the fight against the Corona scourge. Friday morning, Bihar based Biscomaun management decided to donate a sum of Rs 11 lakh towards the Bihar Chief Minister Relief Fund, informed Dr Sunil Kumar Singh, Chairman of Biscomaun.
”Besides, me and my wife Vandana Singh have also decided to contribute Rs 51k and 25k respectively to the CM Relief Fund. It will be our personal contribution”, asserted Sunil. Though it is small, it is symbolic. Such widespread gestures by the general public to contribute whatever they can, would go a long way in strengthening the coffers of the govt, said Sunil explaining its significance.
Being on the Board of several national level cooperatives including Nafed and Kribhco, Sunil shared the news with Indian Cooperative Biscomaun and said “5 lakh would be contributed from one day’s salary of our employees and 6 lakh would be donated by the Biscomaun. The total amount of contribution towards the CM relief fund would be Rs 11 lakh”, he underlined.
Earlier, two of Sunil’s close associates, Ramesh Chaubey, Chairman of Bihar State Co-op Bank and Jitendra Kumar, MLA from Asthawan (Nalanda, Bihar) and Biscomaun Board member had made contribution to CM’s Relief Fund.
“We are also providing insurance cover to our employees who die during the office hours. Biscomaun is distributing soaps, sanitizers, hand masks and other protective gears to the laborers deployed to unload the racks of urea at Biscomaun centers”, Sunil said.
