In a first of its kind Assam Chief Minster Tarun Gogai is setting up a University of Cooperative Management with the help from IIM-Ahmadabad in the state.
Called Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management (ARGUCM), a team of IIM-A professors submitted the blue-print of the proposed University. They aim to make it a Center of Excellence.
Five major schools namely Entrepreneurship and Management, Innovation and Technology, Culture and Media, Public Policy and Law and Ecology and Sustenance would be set up. Broad academic areas for the university would be teaching, training, research, consulting and holding seminars and workshops.
The proposed University would have an international perspective and linkages from local to global issues.
