Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is all set to inaugurate the 7th National Conference of RSS leaning co-operative body Sahakar Bharati to be organized from 17 to 19 December 2021 at Government Polytechnic College, Lucknow.
The inaugural event will be held on 17th December, afternoon. Union State Cooperation Minister BL Verma, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, State Cooperative Minister, a few state cabinet ministers, NCUI President Dileep Sanghani. Thousands of co-operators are expected take part in the event.
The valedictory function to be held on 19th December 2021, will be graced by Union Former Agriculture Minister and UP State in-charge Radha Mohan Singh and others.
Meanwhile, talking to the Indian Cooperative, Sahakar Bharati National General Secretary Uday Joshi said, “Over 3k cooperators representing cooperatives from across states will attend the conference. In a bid to give a platform to Self Help Groups and other co-ops to showcase their products, a stall will be set up for them. It will be a unique event”, he claimed.
During the conference, Sahakar Bharati will also give away the Laxmanrao Inamdar Memorial Award to a cooperator for his outstanding contributions to the cooperative movement. Earlier it was given to IFFCO Managing Director Dr. U S Awasthi.
Sources said that this time around Dr. Ramesh Raliya who hails from Rajasthan has been selected for this award. It is worth mentioning that Raliya has been credited for inventing the IFFCO Nano Urea, which is becoming a big hit among farmers in the country.
It bears recalling that Sahakar Bharati organizes National Conference once in three years. During the conference, Sahakar Bharati will prepare its road map for the next three years. Earlier, the National Conferences were held in Mumbai, Delhi, Bhopal, Bangalore, Pushkar, and Ahmedabad.
The election is also held during the National Conference and sources said, the present National General Secretary, Uday Joshi will be the new president of Sahakar Bharati.
An RSS-affiliated organization in the cooperative sector Sahakar Bharati keeps on raising issues related to the cooperative movement of the country. Due to Sahakar Bharati leaders’ political influence, many issues related to the sector have been resolve.
Meanwhile, detractors allege that the BJP is using the co-op body to further its political interests. It bears recalling that the state of Uttar Pradesh is slated to go to the polls in the first half of 2022.
