On the completion of the first 100 days of his government, Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Minister JPS Rathore shared details about the future goals, targets and present achievements for strengthening the cooperative sector of the state, according to a delayed news coming to Indian Cooperative desk.
Talking to media persons, he said, Crop loans worth Rs 4635.00 crore were disbursed by District Co-operative Banks between 01 April 2022 to 30 June 2022. A loan limit of Rs 560.45 crore has been sanctioned by Uttar Pradesh State Cooperative Bank for the payment of sugarcane farmers from 01-04-2022 to 30-06-2022.
He further added that recently, 13 new branches of Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Bank have been opened, which are equipped with modern banking facilities. With the opening of 13 branches, the number of total branches comes to 40. And 100 branches are proposed to be opened in the next five years, he said.
The Cooperative Minister further emphasized modernizing the Nine training centers at Meerut, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Moradabad, Etawah and others which come under the Cooperation Department.
He further informed that UP Sahkari Gram Vikas Bank (LDB) has been given a bank guarantee of Rs 1000 crore by the State Government, so that farmers will be able to get long term loans.
“Online depot system has been implemented in 117 godowns of UP State Warehousing Corporation, so that the transmission of food grains from warehouses will be done in a transparent manner. Under the AIF scheme, 100 new godowns will be constructed in PACS, so that the farmers of the state will have the facility of storage at the local level”, said Rathore.
The work of computerization of PACS is going on and the work of digitization of 5000 societies has been completed. A campaign has been started to take banking facilities to the doorsteps of farmers by providing micro ATMs to all 7400 PACS, he underlined.
