Fishcopfed march to growth continues unabated with the Co-op Federation posting a profit of Rs 1.03 crore in the financial year 2012-13. The figure is significant as only a few years ago the apex fishermen cooperative has come to a naught and was on verge of closure due to accumulated loss.
A beaming Managing director of Fishcopfed Mr B K Mishra informed Indian Cooperative “Our march to progress continues and we propose to earn more profits in future”.
Mr Mishra further said “We are shortly going to open our seventh office in Patna with the help of Nitish government. Government of Bihar has given space to Fishcopfed in central Patna.”
Mr Mishra said that about 37 lakhs fishermen have been covered under insurance scheme. He plans to take the figure to 40 lakh in this financial year.
But such successes do not spare the MD from the woes of complaints which are being filed at regular interval in the Ministry. These complainants have vested interest and when they do not get their interest served , they rush with false complaints, said Mr Mishra.
“I am an open book and am ready to undergo any scrutiny but I would wish Ministry to also identify the frivolous complaints,” said an anguished Mishra.
I have an entitlement of Rs 3000 hotel-room at the rate of per day but I have never spent more than Rs 200-300. It was during my tenure that a turn-around with the help of Board of Fishcopfed was achieved, Mishra added.
