The Honorable Minister gave us a patient hearing and though we were ready with power point presentation Mr Singh wanted to be given the booklet that detailed all our activities, a visibly happy Chairman Mr Prakash Lonare said to Indian Cooperative.
We also met Secretary and the Joint Secretary and the meeting proved quite fruitful. The Secretary was happy with our efforts, a relaxed MD Mr B K Mishra added. A cooperative cannot survive on the basis of governmental grant and thus we requested to be made partners in various governmental schemes, said Mr Mishra.
Indian Cooperative has gathered that the Ministry is happy with the working of Fishcopfed and is planning to strengthen it further. Mr Mishra is credited with turning around the loss-making cooperative body into a profitable venture.
In the presentation before the Minister the Fishcopfed team presented its vision and achievable goals till 2020. The various works done so far and the projects in the pipeline were also discussed.
We are planning to organize Fisheries Cooperative Congress during the cooperative week in November, said Mr Mishra. The Congress would be a mega event in which large number of participants from across the states will participate, he added.
