Responding to a news report in Indian Cooperative the top cooperators of leading urban cooperative Bank in the country Saraswat Bank phoned this correspondent to convey that Saraswat Bank is not closed to media as is being made out.
The first to phone was Mr S K Sakhalkar, Chairman of the Sarawat Bank enquiring the details of mail sent by us to him via his PA Mrs Kavita. He felt sorry for the faux pass and vowed to remedy the same in future.
“I have instructed my PA and you should feel free to call me. Your phone would be promptly responded”, Sakhalkar assured. He however conceded that communication has to go on in all situations.
“We are all honorary members but we have a full-time Managing Director Mr S K Banerjee; you can talk to him anytime you feel like; he would respond to your queries”, he further said.
Later Mr Gautam Thakur the vice-chairman also called up and echoed Sakhalkar’s words. I would meet you when I am in Delhi or else you are welcomed should you choose to visit us in Mumbai, Thakur said exuding warmth so reminiscent of his late father Eknath Thakur.
We have a road-map made for next five years and we would be needing media’s support in achieving our goal, Thakur said candidly. Thakur narrated interesting future projection of the leading UCB which would be carried in these columns soon.
