Director of NIAM Jaipur, Hema Yadav has joined as the new director of Pune based prestigious cooperative institution Vamnicom on Monday. The tenure of Yadav will be for three years.
Hema joined in the presence of just a few staff members as due to the Covid scourge, the institute is running with reduced strength of staff members.
Confirming her joining the prestigious co-op institution as its head, Hema said to Indian Cooperative “I will strive my best to take Vamnicom to greater heights so that it helps strengthen the cooperative movement in the country”.
Hema said she had been to the Vamnicom campus on earlier occasions as well but coming here as its head gives a different feeling. “I see it as a God sent chance to play my bit in the co-op movement of the country”, she added.
Dr Hema Yadav, joined CCS NIAM in 2005. Prior to joining the NIAM she was a lecturer in the Department of College Education, Govt of Rajasthan from 1992 to 2005. Her area of specialization includes International business, agribusiness management, remote sensing and GIS, land use planning and terrain analysis.
The official communication related to her appointment was out on 22nd April 2021, which was signed by Dinesh Kumar, Section Officer, Minister of Agriculture and farmers welfare. Earlier, the Appointment Committee of Cabinet had okayed Hema Yadav’s appointment. The file from the ACC came to the Ministry on 23rd March 2021 and the final clearance followed thereafter.
Vamnicom conducts several co-op training courses of different durations and the Post Graduate Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PGDCBM), is one of its core programs.
“Hema has a challenge at her hand as the former director Dr K K is said to have raised the bar for Vamnicom. “Lot of infrastructural and development work took place in his 3.5 years’ tenure”, said an employee of Vamnciom.
Tripathy is credited with being the first Director who could help publish Vamincom’s annual report after a gap of 19 years. Renovation of poor infrastructure and introduction of new training modules are highlights of his tenure. He also wrote a book titled “Capacity Building in Cooperatives: A Strategic Roadmap for Vamnicom”.
Tripathy who was given additional charge of Vamnicom after joining as Economic Advisor in the Ministry (DAC & FW) would cease to be connected to Vamnicom any longer.
