In order to cater to varied Cyber Security challenges, Vamnicom recently initiated a series of Webinars to three major sectors of Co-operatives viz. Co-operative Banking, Sugar Co-operatives & Dairy Co-operatives, claims a press release from the ace co-op management institute.
In the Webinar for Dairy Co-operatives organised on 5th June 2020, more than 23 IT Officers from Maharashtra & Karnataka participated. Dr. K. K. Tripathy, Director, VAMNICOM, in his opening remark briefed about the initiatives of VAMNICOM for organising Webinar on important topics.
The sessions on Systems Audit, Cyber Security & Software licensing and Mobile App Security concerns were delivered by Dr Y. S. Patil, HoC IT Vamnicom, Ravikiran Mankikar, Advisory Consultant IT & Security and Nachiket Pohekar, Manager IT, COSMOS Bank respectively. In the concluding session questions were raised by participants.
The Webinar for Sugar Co-operatives was organised on 8th June 2020. In all 39 IT Officers from Maharashtra & Karnataka participated in the webinar. In his opening remark Tripathy urged the IT heads to ensure IT and Cyber Security in place in view of the emerging security challenges.
The sessions on Systems Audit & Webinar tools and it’s security, Cyber Security & Software licensing & ISO certification preparedness and Mobile App Security concerns were delivered by Dr. Y. S. Patil, HoC IT Vamnicom, Ravikiran Mankikar, Advisory Consultant IT & Security and Nachiket Pohekar, Manager IT, COSMOS Bank respectively.
The Webinar for Urban Co-operative Banks was organised on 10th June 2020. In all 25 IT Officers from Maharashtra, Karnataka & Assam participated in the webinar. The sessions on Overview of IT Security in Co-operative Banks, Emerging Cyber Threats and impact on Co-operative banking and IT & Cyber Security compliance requirements were delivered by Dr. Y. S. Patil, HoC IT Vamnicom, Ravikiran Mankikar, Advisory Consultant IT & Security and Nachiket Pohekar, Manager IT, COSMOS Bank respectively.
Dr. K. K. Tripathy, Director, in his concluding remark appreciated the interest shown by UCBs and for their active participation in understanding Cyber Security Challenges.

Every organization needs to adopt cyber best security practices and develop a risk management culture; cyber security regulations are important”, Tripathy stressed.
The webinars organised for three major sectors of co-operatives have immensely benefited the participants with insights into Cyber Security technical requirements to ensure a secured IT environment in their respective co-operative institutions.
