In a bid to recognize and honour exemplary contributions to the cooperative sector, VAMNICOM joined forces with the Co-op lender NCDC to organize the Regional Awards for Cooperative Excellence and Merit. The event, held on March 13, 2024, showcased the collective efforts of cooperatives in driving socio-economic development across various sectors.
The awards ceremony recognized the outstanding contributions of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Women Entrepreneurs, and Fisheries cooperatives. It aimed to applaud their efforts in fostering a conducive cooperative ecosystem and promoting the welfare of their members.

Lt. Col. Vinit Narayan, Regional Director of NCDC, and Shrtikrishna Wadekar, Additional Registrar of the Government of Maharashtra, graced the occasion alongside distinguished guests Dr. Hema Yadav, Director of VAMNICOM, and R. K. Menon, Registrar of VAMNICOM.
Dr. Hema Yadav, in her address as the Chief Guest, emphasized the pivotal role of cooperatives in driving sustainable development and empowering communities. She stressed the significance of governance, management, and business acumen in transforming cooperatives into successful enterprises through capacity building initiatives.
The event saw participation from 120 representatives of FPOs, PACS, and collectives from across Maharashtra, reflecting the widespread impact of cooperative efforts in the region.
