Union Minister for Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan visited the sprawling campus of Vamnicom which is located in the Pune district of Maharashtra on Friday last week and interacted with the faculty members.
He was warmly welcomed by the Vamnicom Director Hema Yadav. Soon after visiting the Campus of Vamnicom, Pradhan shared the photos and other details through his social media post.
He wrote, “Glad to visit @VAMNICOM_Pune, an institute under the @MinOfCooperatn. An intellectual nerve center of the co-operative movement, it is nurturing skilled professionals at the grassroots and furthering education & research in the co-operatives and rural development sector”.
The Vamnicom has been getting more attention by the Central Government after the formation of the new ministry of cooperation. It can be understood from the fact that a separate budget has been allocated to Vamnicom in the Union Budget 2022-23 and it will be directly given by the Ministry of Cooperation to Vamnicom.
During the tour of Maharashtra, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah also visited the campus of Vamnicom.
In his recent address to the co-operators of Gujarat when Prime Minister also dedicated Nano Urea to the country, Narendra Modi referred to Vamnicom. Modi said that who can forget contributions of Vaikunthbhai Mehta, the doyen of Indian cooperative movement.
Prime Minister mentioned about the start of a separate budge for VAMNICOM and said the new Ministry aims to make it still better.
It bears recall that the VAMNICOM has been significantly contributing to the cooperative movement through organizing management training, imparting management education, and conducting research and consultancy projects in the areas of Cooperation and Rural Development.
