Addressing the training program for secretaries of Uttarakhand’s PACCs organized last week at the ICM Dehradun, the state cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat asked them to learn how to operate computers because now the societies will work without papers.
It is being reported that the work of computerization of PACCs is about to complete in the month of September and the state government is planning to get it inaugurated by Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah and the Uttarakhand Chief Minister.
Rawat further added that Uttarakhand has become the second state after Telangana in the computerization of PACS. Institute of Cooperative Management, Dehradun has been given the responsibility of providing training on Unite ERP software developed for the computerization of M-PACS secretaries of the entire Uttarakhand. 60 secretaries of PACS are being trained in each batch for 5 days. So far 8 batches have been trained by the institute, he added.
Sharing his experience, Mohan Ram Arya of Dhanachuli multipurpose cooperative society of Nainital district said” that our society has earned a net profit of Rs 42 lakhs and we hope that with the computerization, we are able to achieve more”.
Another PACCs secretary Rakesh Mohan Thapliyal of Gortipala in Jakholi block of Rudraprayag district said that ”computerization would increase the customer base. In our society there is a deposit of Rs 5 crore of villagers. And the profit of our PACCs is Rs 35 lakh. With the computerization the customers of nationalized banks will come to our society and this will help increase the business,” Thapliyal added.
There were many others who spoke on the occasion hailing the computerization of PACCs. There are 670 PACCs. The inauguration will be done either at Pauri Garhwal or Almora. 20,000 women will participate in the inaugural program.
