Telangana UCB Fed conducts training on NPA Monitoring

Telangana State Co-op Urban Banks Federation conducted a one day training program on Credit Management and NPA Monitoring in order to awaken the banks to concentration of NPA reduction for the staff members of UCBs on Friday.

The programme was inaugurated by the RBI’s Department of Supervision, DGM Prabhuti Samal. The Working President of Telangana Federation G Madana Gopala Swamy, Vice- President Pramod Kumar Kedia, CEO Krishna Murthy and others were present.

 In his inaugural address, Samal praised the comprehensive course content, emphasizing the importance of careful attention to each step in the loan process, from application and appraisal to monitoring, disbursement, and recovery.

He highlighted key areas like identifying Special Mention Accounts (SMA-0, SMA-1, and SMA-2), tracking NPA symptoms, and undertaking necessary follow-up actions to prevent loans from turning into bad debt and to ensure staff accountability.

Samal advised the participants to thoroughly understand the course material and share their learning with colleagues at their respective branches.

Sri G. Madana Gopala Swamy, Working President of Telangana Federation, emphasized that the success of loan sanction and monitoring operations directly translates to the success and strength of their banks, urging participants to engage passionately with the course material.

Vice-President of Telangana Federation, Sri Pramod Kumar Kedia, acknowledged the support of the local RBI, which has significantly reduced the number of Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) under the Supervisory Action Framework (SAF) in Telangana from 11 to 3.

Kedia encouraged participants to improve their loan books and work towards creating a financially stress-free environment in their banks, noting RBI’s dedication to supporting UCBs facing financial challenges.

CEO Krishna Murthy expressed gratitude to the dignitaries for their motivational speeches and assured the participants would meet their expectations.

Esteemed faculty members VV Ramana Rao, retired DGM of Indian Bank, and DSV Ratnakar Rao, retired AGM of RBI, took the sessions.
