Cooperators owing allegiance to Sahakar Bharati have won majority of seats in the recently concluded elections to Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. Headquartered in Bangalore the Co-op Federation takes pride in claiming to be the new generation cooperative.
The election for the President and Vice-President would take place within 15 days, said Managing Director of Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd, Mr Sharanagouda Patil. “You can hope to find new President before August 15”, he added.
The Sahakar Bharati Panel won 16 out 21 seats. Two of its candidates lost just in single digit. Another panel again led by a former BJP MLC Manohar Maski won the remaining 5 seats. “It’s a fight between BJP vs BJP’, told a cooperator with a smile.
Indian Cooperative’s desk has been flooded with congratulatory messages for the new team. On social media, patron of Sahakar Bharati Satish Marathe wrote “Heartiest Congratulations to K’taka Sahakar Bharati Team! Sahakar Bharati Panel sweeps Souharda Federation Election by winning 16 out 21 Seats.”

The elections to the Board of Directors of the Karnataka State Souhardha Federal Cooperative Ltd, Bangalore were held on 28th July, 2017.
Whether the outgoing President Gurunath Jantikar would be re-elected or not- is in the hands of RSS and Sahakar Bharati, said knowledgeable sources.

Souharda Federal Cooperative is a democratically elected self-regulatory organization of the cooperatives registered under the Karnataka Souharda Sahakari Act, 1997.”
