”Cooperation is a fundamental value in our culture which manifests not only in how we run our joint family , our various institutions including cooperatives but also in how we solidarize with mankind ” said Viswas Sarang the cooperation minister of Madhya Pradesh while recently releasing the first issue of Sahakar Sugandh – a Sahakar Bharati mouthpiece in Bhopal.
The minister said the journal will exhaustively report developments dealing with cooperatives as also highlight the challenges confronting the cooperative sector. He also expressed his confidence that the new forum will help cooperatives draw governments’ attention to their problems.
On the occasion, Sahakar Bharati’s patron and newly appointed director of the Reserve Bank of India’s board Satish Marathe was felicitated by Minister Vishwas Sarang, Sahakar Bharati and Sahakar Sugandh by presenting shawl and mementos.
Presiding over the function, Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication Jagdish Upasane said Sahakar Sugandh would diffuse information and knowledge about the cooperative sector among the general public. The vice chancellor added that the journal would also go a long way in redressing the balance of media coverage of cooperative affairs in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Udayrao Joshi, national general secretary of Sahakar Bharati said Sahakar Sugandh would not only play an important role in highlighting achievements in the cooperative sector but also emit the aroma of cooperative wordview around. Talking about his organization, Joshi said Sahakar Bharti with its units in 450 districts in 27 states is continuously working for the welfare of the underprivileged people in society.
