Mohan Mishra is a cooperative official who through his clever moves could manage to find the favor of the new NDA government and by extension Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh. The new minister found in him a man who could walk him to the cooperative sector in a mess.
There was a time when the minister’s query ”what happened to Mishra’s case ” would hit the ministry’s highest bureaucracy in panic. The story had been captured by Indian Cooperative titled “Babus grapple with who is Mohan Mishra”

However, two years on, things seem to be changing.
His absence from a recent meeting called by the Chief executive of NCUI to discuss the late Inamdar centenary celebrations is an aspect of something hidden, actually he would like his own concept of how to celebrate the event to prevail over all other views, says a cooperator on condition of his name not being mentioned.
There are people in NCUI who accuse him of trying to promote NCCT at NCUI’s expense. “He does not realize that the two bodies are inseparable”, said a cooperative leader associated with the apex body for many years.

But things have begun changing with the improvement of relationship between the Union Minister and NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh. Sources say Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh has been instrumental in this change. A loyalist of Chandra Pal and equally close to Radha Mohan Singh, Sunil had worked overtime to bring NCUI President closer to the Minister, said a source privy to the development.
With the top leadership of NCUI becoming warm with the minister, a direct communication between the Ministry and NCUI began where there was no place for malicious talk or bad-mouthing. And the emergence of N Satyanarayan on the scene further strengthened the contact.
Minister had a chance to know the man Satyanarayan during the Motihari cooperative conference. Impressed by his simplicity and transparency Radha Mohan was so impacted by him that he wanted NCUI President to make him CE without delay, says a source.
Now when both President and CE of NCUI are on a one to one communication with the Minister, the importance of Mohan Mishra has nosedived so much so that Mishra’s chance of getting a fresh extension as NCCT secretary has turned bleak, say informed sources.
