Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation (RAJFED) organized its 67th Annual General Meeting recently, in which it was revealed that during the 2022-23 financial year, the marketing cooperative earned a gross profit of Rs 28.56 crore.
Besides, the turnover of the RAJFED increased from Rs 1,396 crore (2021-22) to Rs 2,352 crore as on 31st March 2023. The meeting was held under the leadership of the Principal Secretary Cooperation and Rajfed Administrator Shreya Guha.
The Rajfed earned a net profit of Rs 3.98 crore in the 2022-23 FY. Earlier, in 2021-22, the net profit was Rs 5.68 crore.
Addressing the participants, Guha said that the warehouse of 500 metric tonne capacity would be constructed at the Kray Vikray Sahakari Samitis. “A total of 11.26 lakh metric tonnes of farmers produce was purchased by Rajfed during the 2022-23 FY, amounting to Rs 6,264 crore”.
“As per the budget announcement, an MoU was signed for advance storage of 1 lakh metric ton DAP and 2 lakh metric ton of Urea”, she added, who is also on the board of IFFCO and Nafed”.
Guha further informed, ”There are 257 Kray-Vikray Sahakari Samitis in Rajasthan. Rajfed is also distributing domestic and commercial gas to the consumers of Jaipur city. In the year 2022-23, 1,38,136 gas cylinders were distributed amounting to Rs 13.89 crore”.
Delegates also shared their views before the chair. The issues related to the pending payment of handling and transport works, commission to the societies and other issues were raised.
During the meeting, the State Registrar of Cooperation Societies Meghraj Singh Ratnu, Rajfed MD Hanuman Mal Dhaka, IFFCO Director Mangilal Danga, Jaipur CCB MD M L Gujar,and the representatives from Kray-Vikray Sahakari Samiti were present.
It is to be mentioned here that since 1995, the Rajfed has been controlled by the state cooperative registrar or principal cooperative secretary. Ironically, no elected body took the charge.
