Once again, the candidates subscribing to the RSS succeeded in winning the elections of Janata Sahakari Bank, Pune. In the elections, the bank maintained the tradition of having unopposed election of candidates. The results were announced on Sunday at the special general meeting.
The elections of Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be held on 25th July 2022.
In the new board, out of 17 elected directors, 4 are from the outgoing board and the remaining are newcomers.
The newly elected directors include, Milind Madhukar, Mandar Phatak, Padmaja Kulkarni, Mandar Lele, Amit Yashwant, Prabhakar Kamble, Shrirang Dattatreya, Ravindra Balwant, Alka Petkar, Raghuraj Balaprasad, Kanifnath Rohidas, Kisan Raghu, Makrand Abhyankar, Prabhakar Trimbak, Madhav Mate, Kiran Vasudev Gandhi and Shrikant Potnis.
Anand Katke, district deputy registrar of the cooperative Commissioner in Pune was appointed as the returning officer.
Meanwhile, the social media is flooded with congratulatory messages.
Readers would recall that, “28 nominations were filed and no paper found invalid during the scrutiny. But on the day of withdrawal 11 candidates withdrew their names”.
The bank has a total membership of more than 1.8 lakh shareholders. It has 71 branches in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The bank has 5 off-site ATMs and two extension counters and around 60 onsite ATMs.
The bank’s total business mix is more than Rs 14,000 crore. The deposits are of Rs 8900 crore and loans and advances of Rs 5100 crore. The bank earned a profit of Rs 75 crore in the 2021-22 FY, said its outgoing Chairman CA Madhav Mate who is not seeking next term as the Chairman.
Readers would recall that last year the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a penalty of Rs 30 lakh on Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd, Pune for non-compliance with certain directions.
