Fertilizer cooperatives are yet not free of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) hiccups and sensing this NSRICM, Kalyani organized a DBT workshop for Kribhco employees in West Bengal in which the importance of Information Technology for DBT was emphasized.
Welcoming guests to a one day workshop on Direct Benefit Transfer (D.B.T.) at NSRICM, Kalyani, Dr. I.A. Khan Program Director underlined the importance and gains of Information Technology for DBT.
Organized jointly by NSRICM and Kribhco-Kolkata the workshop led emphasis on DBT’s multiple benefits for farmers as well as for the Kribhco’s dealers. A large number of Kribhco’s field officers participating in the training expressed satisfaction on the theme of the workshop.
Inaugurated earlier by Dr. P. K. Upadhaya, Director, (I/C), NSRICM, Kalyani, the program was attended by several dignitaries including Dr. N. K. S. Chauhan- State Marketing Manager, Kribhco Ltd.-Kolkata, Deba Shish Dutta-State Coordinator (DBT), DOF- New Delhi, and Pardeep Singh, Sr. Manager, DBT Cell, Kribhco-NOIDA.
Around fifty participants attended the workshop from Kolkata and some Districts of West Bengal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. N. K. S. Chauhan, State Marketing Manager, Kolkata emphasized the need of training programs for field officers and dealers so that they could tackle the problems faced by farmers and customers in using DBT. In his remarks.
Debashish Dutta, coordinator of DBT elaborated on the function and use of DBT and also sought to explain technical knowledge about POIS machines used for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
In his concluding address, Pradeep Sing, among other things, mentioned about the marketing and profitability schemes of Kribhco through DBT.
