Network for the Development of Agriculture Cooperatives in Asia and the Pacific (NEDAC) kicked off a three-day workshop in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA) and International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA) on Tuesday in Bangkok.
The theme of the workshop is, “Sustainable Financing and Achieving SDGs for Agricultural Cooperatives”.
In the workshop, NEDAC Emeritus Chair Senior Advisor Sundeep Kumar Nayak, Nafscob Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao, ICBA Chairman Sri Bhima Subrahmanyam, TSCAB Managing Director Dr. Nethi Muralidhar, NEDAC Director Sri R Krishna Salin, Secretary General of APRACA Sri Prasun Kumar Das and others were present.
This workshop was kicked off on 22nd August 2023 and will conclude on 24 August 2023. It is aimed to empower cooperative farmers and industry leaders with the knowledge and tools to build resilient and environmentally conscious agricultural practices.
The key topics to be covered in the workshop include exploring sustainable financing options for agricultural cooperatives, Integrating SDGs into cooperative business models, enhancing financial literacy and management skills, strengthening cooperative networks and collaborations and case Studies of successful sustainable agricultural cooperatives.
During the workshop interactive sessions and group discussions, expert-led presentations and case studies, Q&A sessions with industry professionals will also be held.
The participants will also visit the leading cooperative organizations in Thailand such as Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperatives in Thailand Limited (FSCT), Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), among others.
