The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), through its National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), successfully organized a three-day Leadership Development Programme (LDP) for Directors and Secretaries of the Amreli District Cooperative Union. The event took place from September 3 to 5, 2024, at NCUI headquarters in New Delhi.
The programme was inaugurated on September 3 by Savitri Singh, Deputy Chief Executive of NCUI, who welcomed 40 participants from the Amreli District Cooperative Union, led by its President, Manish Sanghani.
In her opening remarks, Singh emphasized the critical importance of leadership skills and good governance in the cooperative sector. She outlined the objectives of the course, which were designed to enhance the leadership capabilities of the participants and improve their ability to manage cooperatives effectively. The event aimed to equip them with the necessary skills to foster growth and sustainability within their cooperatives.
Manish Sanghani, in his address, expressed his gratitude to NCUI for organizing the training and providing the opportunity for cooperative leaders to develop their skills. He highlighted the significance of continuous learning in the cooperative sector, stating that knowledge and leadership development are essential for maintaining the relevance and success of cooperatives in the rapidly changing economic landscape.
KRIBHCO, one of India’s leading cooperative societies in the fertilizer sector, provided a real-world example of how cooperative principles can be applied effectively in a large-scale business environment. Participants had the opportunity to interact with KRIBHCO officials, further enriching their understanding of cooperative operations and governance.
