The budding multi state cooperative NACOF which develops itself on the lines of Nafed and NCCF held its the 6th Annual General meeting on Saturday in the NCUI Complex in New Delhi.
NACOF Chairman Ram Iqbal Singh announced a profit of 1.54 crore before tax for the year 2014-15 and a dividend of 20 per cent continuously for the fifth year to the member societies.
“We Cooperatives are here only to improve the standard of living of farmers. We don’t want to earn any profit but our objective is to serve the poor farmers who are being neglected by every government said Ram Iqbal Singh”, Chairmen, National Federation of Farmers Procurement Processing Retailing Cooperative of India (NACOF).
Singh said very confidently within the span of 3-5 Years NACOF will become one of the leading Multi-State Cooperative Federations in the country and will play a bigger role in the National Economy. He expressed satisfaction at the fact that many chemical fertilizers companies including KRIBHCO have agreed to supply their products through NACOF.
NACOF Chairman told Indian Cooperative that about 60 delegates came from different states to attend the AGM. Its Vice Chairman G S Hora and the youngest Director Ranjit Singh, many special invitees such as IFFCO’s retired Director Dr G N Saxena, NCUI CEO, Dr Dinesh, Savatri Singh, ICA officer, B.K.Mishra, MD, Fishcopfed, and others were present on the occasion.
The Meeting was inaugurated by M.S.Padhai, IAS, Govt of Odisha who was the chief guest. In his speech he praised the Cooperative Model of Gujarat. “They don’t betray the trust of shareholders and that is how they have emerged as the backbone of the economy, he said. .
IFFCO’s former Director and a Cooperative specialist Dr G N Sexena who retired this February said” I am pleasantly surprised that in a short span of time NACOF is doing so well. He said that a cooperative organization is developed only through professionalization as a trained workers’ team is an asset to the organization”. Dr. Saxena who has international exposure attributed NACOF’s success to this very factor.
NCUI Chief Executive Dr Dinesh said a pre-planned manner of achieving the target does wonders. He said NCUI is ever ready to provide a helping hand to NACOF if any kind of support from the apex body is needed.
Fishcopfed MD B K Mishra expressed confidence that one day NACOF will go far ahead, it will be at the top in the cooperative sector. NACOF, Director, Ranjit singh called for a bigger involvement of Youth in the Cooperative sector.
NACOF, Vice Chairmen, H.S. Gerwal proposed a vote of thanks.
