Addressing the 10th AGM of Udham Singh Nagar District Cooperative Bank in Uttarakhand at Rudrapur last week as the chief guest, the state cooperative minister Dhan Singh Rawat said the state govt is initiating several steps to promote the welfare of farmers in the state.

Readers would recall that recently Uttarakhand Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat announced one time settlement scheme for the recovery of bad loans. The scheme is mainly aimed at benefiting those farmers who are associated with District Central Cooperative Banks.
Besides, Rawat has come in for criticism for removing BJP cooperators from top positions in cooperative bodies in a pre-planned manner. Talking to Indian cooperative, several cooperators especially those associated with Dugdh Utpadak Sahakari Sangh have expressed their annoyance at his unnecessary interference in the affairs of cooperative institutions.
