KSSFCL-KSRDPRU inaugurates second batch of DCBM Course

The Diploma in Cooperation and Banking Management (DCBM) course, a collaborative effort between Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University (KSRDPRU), Gadag, and Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL), Bengaluru, inaugurated its second batch with 292 candidates on May 18, 2024.

The DCBM course, initiated under the leadership of KSRDPRU, aims to enhance the skills of youth and employees within the cooperative sector. The course’s first batch saw 632 candidates benefit from its comprehensive curriculum, which spans one year and includes eight subjects divided into two semesters.

The collaboration between KSRDPRU and KSSFCL was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on January 5, 2023. This partnership is designed to bridge the gap between education and practical application in the cooperative sector, providing valuable skills and knowledge to its participants.

The online inaugural ceremony of the second batch was marked by the presence of distinguished guests and speakers. Prof. Srinivas S. Balli, Vice Chancellor of Nripatunga University, Bangalore, served as the chief guest. He highlighted the significance of the DCBM course, noting its alignment with global economic reforms and its capacity to be pursued alongside regular academic programs.

Mr. Manohar Muski, a member of the Board of Studies at KSRDPRU, emphasized the course’s updated syllabus and its practical applicability in everyday life. He praised the program for its focus on learning and implementation, which equips candidates with skills directly relevant to their professional roles.

Prof. S.S. Hugar, Chairman of the Board of Studies and Member of the Academic Council at KSRDPRU, assured attendees of the university’s full support and the availability of high-quality study materials and skilled faculty.

G. Nanjana Gowda, President of KSSFCL, underscored the importance of dedicating time and effort to the course for successful completion. He urged candidates to prioritize their studies to fully benefit from the program.

Prof. Dr. Suresh V. Nadagoudar, Vice Chancellor of KSRDPRU, described the DCBM course as innovative and stressed the cooperative sector’s crucial role in rural development. He assured participants of the university’s commitment to addressing any issues that may arise during the course.

The event included a welcome address by Dr. Abhaykumar Gasti, Program Coordinator for DCBM at KSRDPRU, and concluded with a vote of thanks from Abhishek V.J., Project Assistant at KSRDPRU. The DCBM course continues to offer valuable educational opportunities, preparing participants to contribute effectively to the cooperative ecosystem.
