K N Rajjana, an MLA from Karnataka is contesting against Sudhakar Chaudhary.
Those not being opposed could be declared elected as Directors of the new Board of KRIBHCO. They are Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, V R Patel, the outgoing Chairman, Dr Bijender Singh, now Chairman of NCCF, Dr Sunil Kumar Singh, Chairman of Biscomaun, Bhanwar Singh Sekhawat from Madhya Pradesh, Shailja Devi Nikam from Jalgaon and Paresh Patel from Gujarat.
Indian Cooperative has learnt that there is a groundswell of support in favor of Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav this time. He has a massive support not only from the new Directors but also from a large number of delegates cutting across states, Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh told Indian Cooperative.
He has the backing of all the delegates from Bihar and all of UP. The northern belt of India is simply impatient to see him as the Chairman , Sunil said. Even Gujarat that has roughly 200 delegates is supporting Mr Yadav whole-heartedly, Singh added.
Explaining further Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh said “ As Narendra Modi is indispensable for BJP, so is Dr Chandra Pal for Kribhco”. Answering a query from Indian Cooperative if Yadav should be seen as the next Chairman, an ebullient Sunil replied ” hundred percent”.
Earlier, the scrutiny of nominations was done on Monday and the list of valid nominations after the withdrawal was put up in the evening showing contest just for one seat where Sudhakar is pitted against Rajjana.
The Election Officer Dr M L Khurana who was in Goa this weekend was present to oversee the entire election process. Assisting him was Mr VRS Prasad the Additional MD of Kribhco.
The final election and declaration of results would take place on 12th February in which the Chairman and vice-chairman would be elected. If Chandra Pal bags the top post, the outgoing Chairman VR Patel may emerge as the vice-chairman, an unnamed source told Indian Cooperative.
