Arguing his case National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav mooted the idea which was accepted by one and all. Talking to Indian Cooperative Mr Yadav said “yes India will hold the next Regional Assembly scheduled for 2016.”
The Bali Conference was significant in many ways. Cooperative leaders of all hues from India had gathered there. There were representatives from NCUI, IFFCO, Kribhco, Co-op Banks, Fishcopfed , state cooperative federations and many more.
The chief speakers from India included Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, G N Saxena, Bhagwati Prasad, Dr Dinesh and others. The top brass of the ICA Headquarters including Pauline Green and Charles Gould had come to participate in the Assembly.
Talking to Indian Cooperative soon after the conference was over Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav said ” the Indian cooperative movement is pretty strong and it is my wish to replicate the experience in other parts of the Asia- Pacific region.
Recounting the themes of the Assembly NCUI President said ”my speech revolved around this theme only as we firmly believe cooperatives and cooperatives alone could end hunger from the globe”.
”All through the Regional Assembly, there was a sense of bonhomie and camaraderie visible among the Indian participants. We were staying in two different but adjacent hotels facing the open sea, said Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Singh, indicating the team of Iffco and Kribhco.” Don’t you see in the photographs how Iffco and Kribhco teams are together shoulder to shoulder, he reminded this correspondent after mailing the photographs to Indian Cooperative.
