Sahakar Bharati’s top leadership landed in Delhi Monday and held a series of meetings with most of the stake-holders including Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh and MoS Parshottam Rupala in the run-up to the Laxmanrao Inamdar’s birth centenary celebrations slated for September 21.
Besides Singh and MoS Purshottam Rupala, there were representatives from NCUI and NCDC also such as NCUI Chief Executive N Satyanarayan and NCDC Joint MD D N Thakur. Sahakar Bharati was represented by Satish Marathe, Jyotindra Mehta, Uday Joshi and Laxmin Narayan Gupta.
Vigyan Bhawan has been booked for September 21st -the day the legendry leader was born. An invitation has been sent to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We would be knowing by the next week about PM’s participation”, said a confident Satish Marathe the patron of the RSS leaning body.
Meeting with Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh focused on several issues concerning the centenary celebrations. The programme is chiefly being organized by the Ministry with other organizations such as NCUI and Sahakar Bharati.
A book on Inamdar and a souvenir are being published by NCUI.
There is also an idea of holding a conference of state co-operative ministers on the occasion. Sahakar Bharati leaders say in the light of fast changing times the co-operative policies formulated 10-12 years ago need a revamp. These are simply not keeping pace with changing times”, says Sahakar Bharati President Jyotindra Mehta.
Inamdar’s centenary celebrations are going to be high-ticket event. The co-op exhibition and co-op melas are also being planned. All the major co-operative bodies in the country are involved in one way or another in honoring a man who coined an incredible slogan “bina sanskar nahi sahakar”.
