IFFCO and Jordan Phosphates Mines Company Ltd (JPMC) had formed a limited liability Joint Venture Company namely Jordan India Fertilizer Company (JIFCO) on 6 March 2008 in Amman. On the first December i.e Monday the plant has gone operational. The project is worth $860 million.
The partner of IFFCO Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) owns and operates a large number of phosphate mines in Jordan. Dr Awasthi had gone to Jordan to attend the Board meeting of JIFCO and eat cake on the successful commissioning of the project.

Top cooperative officials of IFFCO Indian Cooperative talked to were pleased with themselves on this success. They remembered that soon after the disappointment with Egyptian govt, Jordan project was launched and it is heartening to see it fructifying.
