Enhancing skills: VAMNICOM set to commence 58th batch of PGDCBM

The premier co-op institute VAMNICOM is all set to commence the 58th Batch of its Post Graduate Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PGDCBM). This program is targeted at in-service officers from state cooperative departments, national and state cooperative federations, urban and district cooperative banks, multi-state cooperative societies, FPOs/FPCs, and primary cooperative societies.

The PGDCBM aims to equip participants from the cooperative and allied sectors with the managerial skills necessary to navigate the modern business landscape. The program’s curriculum has been restructured to include 36 weeks of instruction, comprising 20 weeks of online learning, 6 weeks of on-campus sessions, and 10 weeks of project work conducted at the participants’ workplaces.

The core objective is to enhance the managerial capabilities of executives in the cooperative sector through exposure to contemporary management concepts, methods, and techniques, thereby fostering a higher level of enterprise management within the sector.

In light of recent initiatives by the Ministry of Cooperation to bolster and expand the cooperative sector—such as making PACS multipurpose, computerizing PACS, establishing 2 lakh new primary cooperatives, and implementing the world’s largest grain storage program—the need for updated management training has become paramount.

These policy and programmatic changes require that the human resources within cooperatives are well-versed in the latest management strategies to adapt to the evolving national and global contexts.

Eligible participants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree, with preference given to those having a minimum of three years of managerial experience in cooperative organizations, government departments, or cooperative banks. Ideally, participants should be under 50 years of age, although a relaxation of up to 5 years is permissible for deserving candidates, including women and SC/ST/OBC individuals as per government regulations.

Proficiency in spoken and written English is also required. Young aspirants with the necessary qualifications and experience who wish to join cooperative or collective organizations are encouraged to apply.

The course fee for participants from India and CICTAB member institutions in SAARC countries is Rs. 50,000 plus 18% GST. This fee covers accommodation in AC rooms at the officers’ hostel, boarding facilities, access to the institute’s online e-library, study materials, and inter- and intra-state study visits. Additionally, scholarships worth Rs. 50,000 are available for meritorious participants.
