“Today we see a unique conjunction between Transport, Tourism and Cooperative and a new idea is taking birth”, said BJP Vice-President Shyam Jaju while inaugurating the office of “Chal Dhano”- a cooperative ride service in Delhi on Wednesday.
“Chal Dhano” will give ride services through bikes to the passengers at Metro Stations to drop them to their respective destinations at very nominal cost in collaboration with National Federation of Tourism and Transport Cooperative of India (NFTC).
Besides Jaju, those present included NCUI’s Chief Executive N.Satyanaryana, Ahmadabad Mayor Gautam Shah, MD Ajit Jain and others. The project is said to generate employment in the cooperative sector.
“There is a serious problem of parking in Delhi and to tackle this situation the cooperative society will give ride services at cheapest rates to the common people. It’s a commendable efforts led by Ajit Jain, MD, Chal Dhano and its team”, Jaju added.

He further said ” we are recruiting both males and females on the basis of eligibility and the objective is to generate employment opportunities through cooperative. We will work on cooperative principle and not earn profit so we could help less affluent sections of society, he noted.
“There are more than 200 metro stations in the Delhi-NCR region and lakhs of people travel by Metro. However, after getting down from metro, people have to use Rickshaw and other means of transport to cover their last mile. And it is at this point where our representatives will give bike rides to them at cheapest rates”, said Jain who is also on the board of NFTC.
Suresh Sharma, Chairman of NFTC said “The Modi- Government’s ‘Sabka Saath, SabkaVikas’ (collective efforts, inclusive growth) mantra inspired us. With the help of transport cooperative we are launching a ride at cheapest rates which will also take special care of women passengers”.
Gautam Shah, Mayor, Ahmedabad (Gujarat) said it will help in generating employment opportunities and in saving both time and money. Nitika Sharma, Councilor also spoke on the occasion said the cooperative society is launching an app through which a passenger can book his ride at the cheapest rate. Women will also be deployed to give rides to women passengers.
