In a cooperative conclave with a difference Sunil Singh and his team took Patna by storm by showcasing the stalwarts of two political parties namely BJP and RJD at one platform. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Radha Mohan Singh looked so much at ease with each other in the historic cooperative conclave.
While the town was awash in huge cut-outs of even little known leaders, the S K Memorial Hall saw the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister along with many of his Cabinet colleagues on one hand and the cooperative leaders from across India led by NCUI President on the other.
The presence of three cabinet Ministers and Lalu Yadav on the stage silenced the detractors of Biscomaun Chairman who believed that the Nitish govt is not with the cooperative conclave. Several others who felt that by inviting Radha Mohan Singh, organizers have angered the mahgathbandhan were also in for a rude shock when Lalu Yadav lavished praise and love on Sunil Singh.

He also said the major take-away from the conclave is leaders have gathered here today forgetting their political differences or other narrow loyalties. This is the victory of the philosophy of cooperation, he added.
He demanded agricultural loans at one percent interest rate for farmers – an idea that got him a thunderous applause from thousands of PACS Chairmen present on the occasion. His other statement lapped up by the crowd was declaration of his determination to make Bihar number one in the cooperative movement outpacing Gujarat.
The programme started with two lyrical songs – one highlighting the greatness of the land of Bihar and the other based on the seven colours of cooperative. The girls and boys presenting the song in dance format captivated the audience by their excellent rendition.
He also listed several new schemes launched by the NDA govt for farmers including new Bima policy. He also addressed Chandra Pal Singh’s concern on the RBI recommendations and said till Modi and I am there this will never happen. He said ‘’I returned the file as soon as it landed at my table’’.
The NCUI President laid emphasis on reduced interference by the govt in the activities of cooperatives and also urged the fellow cooperators to get over their impression that cooperative is a cesspool of corruption. “We have to prove we are honest”, he added.
Yadav also listed the concerns of the cooperative sector including the IT exemption and 97th CAA.
Coming in the last RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav regaled the audience with his anecdotes and asked PACS chairman to look for business opportunities instead of looking up to the govt all the time.
He said cooperation is in our heritage and assured that his govt will always stand by the cooperative sector.
Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav also spoke in chaste English and welcomed the guests coming from different parts of the country.
Other speakers included State cooperation minister Alok Kumar Mehta, Animal Husbandry Minister Awadesh Babu, NAFSCOB Chairman Dilip Sanghani, NCDC MD Vasudha Mishra, Housing Federation Chairman S N Sharma and others.
