Reacting to the allegations of corruption in the recruitment of assistant managers (general) and assistant managers (computer) in Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank in 2015-16, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered to file cases against accused in the court.
Talking to Indian Cooperative Praveen Singh Jadon, Sahakar Bharati, Uttar Pradesh State General Secretary said, “We are happy that the yogi government has acted in the case of illegal recruitment done in the cooperative banks of the state by the SP govt. On several occasions Sahakar Bharati had written letters to the CM in this regard.
Hinting at a major cleansing-up operation needed in the co-operatives of the state, Jadon said “There are several co-ops in the state where SP leaders are involved in misappropriations of funds even now but with a no-nonsense Yogi at the helm, we are sure that there will be curb on corruption.”
On the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank recruitment in 2015-16 matter, the official twitter handle of the Chief Minister announced action last Friday. CM’s reaction came in the wake of report submitted by the SIT constituted a month ago to investigate the matter. The report, obviously hinted at collusion of Akhilesh govt in the recruitment, prompting Yogi to order filing of cases against the accused.
Those facing the CM’s ire are the then managing directors of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank Limited, Hiralal Yadav and Ravikant Singh; former UP Cooperative Institutional Service Board chairman Ramjatan Yadav; secretary Rakesh Mishra; member Santosh Kumar Srivastava; associated recruitment computer agency M/S Axis Diginet Technologies Private Limited and others.
These individuals are accused of fraud, manipulations of documents and conspiracy. Sources add that money was exchanged in lieu of posts in the recruitment process. This is indeed going to be tough for those who got the job by paying huge sum of cash, they added.
Media reports say the CM has also directed the SIT probing into recruitment at Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation in 2013 and Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Village Development Bank Limited in 2015-16 to give its inquiry report within a month, an official spokesman said.
The govt spokesperson said there were allegations of corruption in appointments to the Cooperative Department during the Samajwadi Party government. The investigation of the case was handed over to the SIT. Taking note of its report, the CM on Friday directed to register an FIR in the matter.
The cases are being filed under section 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120 B. Extolling the virtue of merit in fetching jobs, Adityanath said that his govt would ensure that only those who have merit and are well-deserving, get the jobs.
Yogi has also threatened to send everyone involved in the scam to jail.
