Co-operators cutting across party lines celebrated the International Day of Cooperatives with full gusto and enthusiasm. From Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to Union Minister of State of Agriculture Parshottam Rupala to several cooperators lined up to observe the day.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the farmers and employees of the cooperative department through a state-level virtual program. He also interacted with the farmers of four districts. The farmers of the tribal service cooperative organization Borjhar of Alirajpur district were also present on the occasion.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture Parshottam Rupala speaking as Chief Guest during a virtual function organized by NCUI said that in building up a new India, cooperatives should play a leading role.
On the occasion of International Day of Cooperatives, IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi has congratulated fellow co-operators across the globe by tweeting his good wishes early morning on 3rd of July.

Pune based prestigious cooperative institution Vamnicom organized an event in which Mirai Chatterjee, Chairperson, Self-Employed Women Association (SEWA) took part in the celebrations.
NCDC had organized an event on “Cooperatives and the challenges of Covid-19 pandemic” to mark the International Day of Cooperatives. In the times of ongoing covid-19 crisis, many cooperatives in India have risen to the occasion and shown their capabilities to respond to COVID-19 pandemic to the best of their capabilities, said Bhagwan Shankar, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation Department, Government of Sikkim.
Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Federation Limited had organized an event in collaboration with the district administration. The event was led by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh K. Shawn.
The news came from other cooperatives as well that celebrated the day. Indian cooperative received scores of mails and photographs related to the celebrations of International Day of Cooperatives from cooperative institutions from across the country.
NCCT also organized an impressive programme in which several eminent persons including Nandini Azad participated. Dr Ashok Dalwal, Chairman of the Committee formed to double farmers income presided over the programme. Mangal Jit Rai, Chairman NCDFI also took part in NCCT event.
This was the 27th International Day of Cooperatives as recognized by the United Nations and the 99th International Cooperative Day. The theme this year was “Rebuild Better Together”.
