The members of PACS in Chhattisgarh were elated to know that a Committee appointed by Registrar of Co-operatives in the state has recommended higher TA/DA for their meetings and traveling.
Reacting to the news, Jhunmun Gupta Chairman of the State Co-op Union said this is sure to energize the PACS officials and they would throw themselves in the job with greater vigour.
The Committee has recommended that the meeting and travel allowance to the officials of PACS and Lamps Service Cooperative Societies, which is Rs 80 should be increased to Rs. 170 to Rs. “The recommendation has been made by the committee constituted by the Registrar Cooperative Societies Chhattisgarh”, a press note from Jhunmun Gupta read.
Gupta informed that “In the general meeting of Balod District Cooperative Union Maryadit Balod held on 30 September 2019, representatives of service cooperative societies demanded an increase in allowance.”
NCUI’s Governing Council member and Raipur MLA Satyanarayana Sharma and Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Union and Balod District Cooperative Federation President Jhunmun Gupta, who attended the meeting, also agreed that the demand was justified, the press note read.
The recommendation of the general assembly by Balod District Co-operative Union was forwarded to the Registrar Co-operative Societies Chhattisgarh Raipur. Pondering over the issue- on January 13, the Registrar appointed a 4-member committee.
The Committee was formed under the chairmanship of Joint Registrar Cooperative Societies Raipur Sandeep Gupta, in which Jhunmun Gupta, president of Balod District Cooperative Union, MD NRK Chandravanshi and Durg Deputy Registrar of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Union Sushil Tigga were included.
The mandate of the Committee was to look into the allowance being provided for the meeting / travel allowance currently to the members of the Board of Directors in primary cooperative societies of various sections of Chhattisgarh like Primary Weavers Cooperative Society, Primary Milk Cooperative Society, Small Forest Produce Cooperative Society.
The meeting allowance of the officials and members of Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperatives was last fixed in the year 2013 by the Registrar Cooperative Societies. In view of inflation in the last 7 years, the committee unanimously approved a maximum of Rs. 170 for the meeting / travel allowance of the members, keeping in view the scope of primary agricultural credit cooperatives, the maximum distance of the field from committee headquarters etc.
